MEET OUR CHAIR
The Finnish architect, Anssi Lassila (b.1973), is the Director and Founding Principal Partner of OOPEAA Office for Peripheral Architecture. His international breakthrough was the Kärsämäki Shingle Church. Lassila’s architecture displays his interest in combining a sculptural form with traditional materials and building techniques. Lassila lives and works in Seinäjoki and in Helsinki, Finland.
OOPEAA has been rewarded with significant awards and nominations and has won several prizes in architecture competitions. In its approach to architecture OOPEAA combines innovation with experience and a sense of respect for tradition and locality.
